The first images from Warner Independent Pictures’ The Painted Veil, starring Naomi Watts and Edward Norton:

The John Curran-directed film is based on the novel by W. Somerset Maugham which has been previously filmed starring Greta Garbo.

THE PAINTED VEIL is the story of a young English couple - Walter Fane (Edward Norton) is a doctor and loves his medical research more than his wife Kitty (Naomi Watts). In Hongkong, where Fane conducts his research, Kitty has an affair with Charlie Townsend (Liev Schreiber), but then Walter’s and Kitty’s joint fight against cholera gives them another chance for redemption and happiness.

With three great actors in the leading roles, there shouldn’t go much wrong. The film is scheduled for release on November 17th, 2006 in Los Angeles and New York.
