Sydney’s homegrown short film festival, Tropfest, has extended its reach to New York, making a star-studded debut as part of the Tribeca Film Festival.

Stars including Naomi Watts, Anthony LaPaglia, Matt Dillon and Gia Carides attended the screening of 16 Tropfest films at the Tribeca Drive-In, at the World Financial Centre. Eight of the films were made exclusively for the show, called Tropfest@Tribeca, and eight others were Tropfest classic shorts.

Naomi Watts was at the festival with Liev Schreiber, her maybe-fiancee.
